About the organisation
The Australian Federation of Disability Organisation (AFDO) is a peak organisation in the disability sector representing people with lived experience of disability.
AFDO works to develop a community where people with disability can participate in all aspects of social, economic, political and cultural life. AFDO provides systemic representation, policy advice, key projects to build the capacity of people with disability and their representative organisations as well as disability focused consultancy.
About the role
This position is only available for those who identify as a person with disability as allowed under ‘special measures’ of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, no other applicants will be considered.
The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations, a Disabled People’s Organisation and a National Cross-Disability Peak, represents people with disability and their families, and is looking for an experienced project coordinator with relevant skills to fulfil this role. The current Coordinator is leaving to pursue other opportunities and has developed an Approved Activity Work Plan, commenced the project, engaged with participating AFDO member organisations and provided initial reporting and updates to the funder.
Reporting directly to the National Manager – Policy, Sustainability, Initiatives & Projects, you will be responsible for coordinating the main Information Linkages and Capacity Building Project and providing support for the AFDO developed Business Diversity & Inclusion Service.

You must have a minimum of 3 years project management experience and ideally coordination expertise.
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday each week, with an initial 12 month contract and potential for renewal subject to results. The main project is funded until mid 2023. We have a remote “home office” operating environment and great flexibility along with other benefits and a great team environment. Ideally, we are seeking the candidate to commence immediately.
