About the organisation
MND Victoria was formed in 1981 by a group of volunteers with the strong involvement of people with MND, their families, health professionals and other concerned people to address the absence of a coordinated response to MND. It is a state-wide, not-for-profit organisation, predominately self- funded situated in Canterbury in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
MND Victoria is dedicated to providing the best possible support for people living with motor neurone disease (MND).
MND Victoria's Equipment Service (ES) provides a range of commonly used assistive technology equipment, like wheelchairs and hoists at no cost to people with MND who are registered with MND Victoria. Requests for equipment must be made by an appropriate allied health professional who is responsible for providing instruction in the use of the equipment. A formal agreement is in place with an external equipment supplier who is contracted to store, distribute, retrieve, clean and maintain the equipment belonging to MND Victoria.
