About the role

The Peer Support and Community Engagement Worker will provide peer support to individuals impacted by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, by listening and offering encouragement, providing practical information about other help available and sharing useful resources.

This is fixed term position available on part time or full time basis, based in Wagga Wagga, NSW.

To be successful in this role, you are required to possess:

  1. Lived experience of disability
  2. Certificate IV (AQF level 4) in Community Work, Mental Health, Peer Work, Disability or willingness to undertake
  3. Sound knowledge of social justice and culturally responsible services
  4. Demonstrated ability to operate under direction, to set goals and to work to deadlines

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is in the range of $72,361.12- $77,854.40 per annum plus superannuation for full time. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
