About the organisation

Organisation Name : Djirra

Djirra supports Aboriginal women's journey to safety and wellbeing, and provides legal and practical supports to Aboriginal people experiencing family violence across Victoria. Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation with a rich history, and we are growing our services across regional Victoria

About the role

For the last few months, Djirra has been putting together a plan to extend our services past 5pm on weekdays. With recruitment happening for our Djirra Connect Workers, we’re getting closer to helping Aboriginal women get access to important services when they need it most.

Djirra has an opportunity for an Aboriginal woman to be our Senior Project Manager for our After Hours Support Line. It’s an exciting time to come on board as we’re starting to think about service delivery (with the Djirra Connect Workers being placed within the Family Violence Case Management Team). You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the head of that team, and also with our Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Manager to plan and implement the evaluation of the project. You’ll also submit regular reports on the project expenditure with support from our Finance Manager.

The project has funding to the end of December 2021.  We’re keen to seek further funding, based on evidence collected from the Djirra Connect Workers’ roles, to continue the after-hours service, possibly even extend the hours.

You’ll need:

  •  A strong desire to help Djirra implement a much needed expansion of programs.
  • A willingness to nut out problems.
  •  An understanding of evaluation, or an eagerness to learn, will be great, as the project is moving into that phase.
  • Experience of project management, or relevant skills including:
    •  Good time management skills.
    • The ability to communicate clearly.
    • Juggling competing interests and deadlines.

The successful applicant for this role will be able to commence as soon as possible.
