The Sisters of Charity Foundation was established by the Sisters of Charity of Australia to develop partnerships and programs for the relief of poverty and disadvantage in Australia. We currently have four programs:

  • Community Grants Program: We provide grants of up to $15K to projects that tackle poverty and disadvantage.
  • Tertiary Scholarship Program: We provide scholarships for dedicated students from out-of-home care backgrounds to attend university or TAFE.
  • Asylum Seekers Housing Program: We provide emergency and transitional housing for asylum seekers at risk of homelessness, in partnership with the Asylum Seekers Centre.
  • Anti-Slavery Housing Program: We provide transitional housing for survivors of modern slavery, in partnership with the Salvation Army Australia.

About the role

Foundation Assistant

We are recruiting for a Foundation Assistant to support the Foundation Manager with bookkeeping and effective management of all aspects of the Foundation’s administration, financials and compliance with relevant regulatory authorities.

This is a newly created part-time role, 21 hours (3 days) per week, reporting to the Foundation Manager. We are based in Bondi Junction, close to all transport.

 About You

You are proficient in Salesforce Classic / App11.lighting, and are able to assist with other databases such as Smarty Grants.

You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You have Xero Accounting software experience.

You have experience supporting Boards and Committees, including the recording of minutes and actions, plus ZOOM, catering, etc (desirable).

You have Diligent platform experience (desirable).

You have excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.

You are able to work collaboratively within a team, and also use your initiative to work remotely with minimum supervision.

You have a commitment to social justice, a high level of ethics and integrity, and value cultural diversity.
