About the role

The Primary Prevention team’s focus over the next twelve months is developing, implementing and consolidating a suite of programs and projects that will continue to build capability, connectedness, and expertise in the primary prevention sector.

The Prevention Project and Partnership Manager will report to the Director, Primary Prevention but will play an active leadership role on the Primary Prevention Leadership team. Key to the success of this role will be supporting, mentoring and managing a team of prevention practitioners working on delivering multiple projects and programs in the area of policy, partnerships, evaluation and sector development.

The Prevention Project and Partnership Manager will work with Prevention Advisors to ensure high quality project planning, implementation, and reporting across the team and ensure all projects and programs are delivered on time and on budget. This role will oversee and manage critical partnerships, stakeholders and contracts as well as Chair the Partners in Prevention advisory group. This role will also be responsible for supporting capacity building and a consistent approach to project management, evaluation and monitoring across the team and organisation.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, health or related discipline and/or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Experience in a role/organisation engaged in Prevention of Violence against Women or gender equality
  • Highly developed experience in project management
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, leading and managing a diverse team of staff
  • Knowledge of project and contract management processes and practices
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to interact professionally and confidently with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in developing internal relationships and processes in order to seek collaborative solutions
  • Knowledge of key primary prevention and response frameworks and standards and prevention sector (desirable)
  • A deep understanding, or lived experience, of the ways that gender inequality intersects with other forms of inequality and oppression, such as ableism, white supremacy, racism, homophobia, transphobia and classism. (desirable)

About the organisation

Organisation Name : Domestic Violence Victoria

Domestic Violence Victoria (DV Vic) is the peak body for specialist family violence response services for victims-survivors in Victoria.  We are an independent, non-government organisation.

To achieve this, we:

  • advocate and provide advice to government with and on behalf of our members
  • lead innovation and influence policy, legislation and community attitudes
  • work with our members to strengthen specialist family violence practice and build the capacity of human services
  • work respectfully and collaboratively with all our partners.

Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) is a state-wide resource centre that focuses on building the capacity of systems, organisations and professionals to prevent and respond to family violence. We are also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) who provides training and capacity building activities to meet workforce development needs from prevention to response.

DV Vic and DVRCV are merging to become one entity in 2021.

DV Vic and DVRCV’s work is informed by the experiences of adult and child victim survivors impacted by family violence.
