About the organisation
The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) is a national not-for-profit membership organisation and the peak professional body for midwives in Australia.

They are working towards building a resilient midwifery workforce for the future by advocating for the profession at a government level, promoting the benefits of midwifery care to the wider community and ensuring midwives in Australia are supported with industry information, quality education, career development and personal support through all stages of their career.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Interim CEO to lead the organisation on a 6 month fixed term contract whilst the Board conduct a thorough executive search process.

You will be an established business leader who will ensure the successful delivery of day to day operations as well as the strategic priorities of the organisation. Delivering sustained member value and increasing the engagement of members will be a key priority of yours. In addition, you will advocate and influence on public policy relating to midwifery and workforce priorities with government and non-government stakeholders.

About you
To be successful in this role, it is important that you can demonstrate experience in:

• Exceptional business leadership experience, with strong operational, governance, financial and human resource skills;
• Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop and maintain strategic networks and influence and negotiate across a diverse range of stakeholders;
• Strong understanding of public policy development and skills in advocacy;
• Demonstrated experience in growing and diversifying revenue sources for an organisation;
• Senior executive experience in another industry association or within the Health is essential;
• Whilst not essential, midwifery experience would be ideal; and
• Relevant tertiary qualifications.

Whilst the permanent role will be located in Canberra, the Interim CEO could be based in either Canberra or Sydney.
