About the role

  • Opportunity to make your mark
  • Legacy's signature centenary celebration
  • Newly created contract role

Legacy is an iconic and unique Australian charity dedicated to the care of widows and dependants of veterans who’ve given their life or their health, during or as a result of their military service . Legacy was founded in 1923 by a small group of World War One veterans who wanted to honour a promise to look after the families of their fallen comrades. Perfect Events, Australia’s premier events management company, have been working with Legacy Australia to develop a ‘Flagship Event’ for the Centenary of Legacy Celebrations in 2023. The concept of the Legacy Flagship Campaign has been identified as a once in a life-time opportunity for the Legacy movement and all 45 clubs across Australia as the organisation celebrates 100 years.

To prepare for this significant centenary celebration and ensure future sustainability, Legacy and Perfect Events require a National Corporate Partnerships Specialist with proven success in acquisition, aligning values and generating financial and in-kind support. Reporting to the CEO of Perfect Events, this exciting opportunity will implement the corporate partnerships and sponsorship strategy to confirm in-kind and cash investment for Legacy’s Centenary Celebration. You will acquire corporate partners (both new and through leveraging existing Legacy relationships), through prospect identification, cultivating and soliciting prospects, developing and presenting proposals, relationship building and driving engagement strategies to generate income. You will secure financial support from sponsorship, cause-related marketing campaigns, shared value, fundraising, gifts in kind, community fundraising, workplace giving and employee engagement.

Your communication, negotiation and influencing skills are essential to build strong cases for support, share compelling stories and clearly articulate the impact of Legacy, along with the ability to successfully plan, research and build effective relationships with key decision makers and diverse stakeholders. In consultation with Legacy and Perfect Events, you will build and implement a comprehensive assets register, recognition framework and bespoke engagement opportunities including creative and high-profile activations to maximise support, build mutually beneficial partnerships and integrate corporate partners into Legacy.

You will be a motivated, committed and outcomes-focussed partnerships specialist with 3+ years experience, and bring commercial acumen, creative thinking, problem-solving ability, project management and business development skills, plus an understanding of philanthropy, fundraising and sponsorship. Tertiary qualifications in related field/s are beneficial.

APPLY NOW if you are a Corporate Partnerships Specialist with proven success and know-how to make a significant difference to widows and dependants of war veterans.
