About the role
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer and one of an elite group of hospitals worldwide to have its own integrated cancer research program and laboratories. Fundraising plays a crucial role in advancing cancer research at Peter Mac with funds raised accelerating the search for cancer cures.
Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager, the Trusts & Foundations Coordinator will develop targeted and sustainable philanthropic trust submissions to help fund Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre priority needs and increase program income. The position will be responsible for coordinating the identification, cultivation, solicitation, submission writing, reporting and ongoing stewardship of Trusts and Foundations to ultimately drive income growth and net returns.
Managing and prioritising the application and acquittal process will be important to build a sustainable Trusts & Foundations program, as will the ability to build and coordinate an efficient and ongoing pipeline of funding opportunities from philanthropic Trusts and Foundations. You will work with the research program and other key stakeholders to identify projects and present opportunities for funders to partner with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on strategic and innovative projects.
Proven success in writing compelling cases for support and sophisticated funding applications is essential, along with strong communication skills to convey outcomes, evidence, learnings and impact. Attention to detail will be important to maintain accurate records in the database of submissions, acquittals, donor contacts and other key relationships, plus internal stakeholders across the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Sound knowledge of the philanthropic landscape is required and FIA Membership and/or CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) is highly regarded.
Full-time or part-time will be considered.
