About the role
Our headspace team in Knox have an exciting new full-time role for 12 months to provide outreach to young people experiencing a range of mental health issues!
If you hold qualifications including relevant professional registration as required and/or e xperience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career development or a related field, with experience in working with young people and/or people experiencing mental ill-health, then we would love to hear from you!
As the headspace Vocation Specialist, you will bring your extensive knowledge and expertise in the career development and/or disability employment sector, with a demonstrated understanding of youth mental health and the issues that impact them accessing employment and/or educational opportunities. You will be a highly engaging individual with a passion for developing good business relationships, and the ability to work independently.
What you’ll be doing
Your days will be varied and highly interactive. Your strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, ability to partner with diverse stakeholder groups, and experience in career coaching or providing sound career-planning support to young people will be key in the day-to-day success, of the headspace Vocation Specialist.
You will employ excellent youth engagement skills to provide centre-based & assertive outreach to young people experiencing a range of mental health issues. Working intensively with young people and their families (where appropriate) to ensure young people aged up to 25 years achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and competitive employment.
Who you’ll be working with
The focus of the position is to work within the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Jobs Victoria project within headspace Knox. Reporting into the Team Leader Intake & Brief Intervention, you will also be part of the broader headspace Knox and headspace Lilydale team, awesome teams well known for positive staff culture!
