About the role

The Head of Learning and Development will make a major contribution to ensuring that our employees have the skills and capability needed to create better lives for our clients through delivering services that meet their needs. Working with the People and Culture team and our Senior Leaders you will assess, design and deliver solutions that grow the careers of our people, helping them thrive today and tomorrow.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO, you will be part of a leadership team transforming the culture and capability of JewishCare. Following a recent review of our Learning and Development function, you will collaboratively build a strategic and operational roadmap that builds a broader learning community to deliver results in line with our overall strategy, that is to be an Employer of Choice.

In this role you will have oversight and delivery of our learning and training programs and be responsible for building our talent to fuel our growth ambitions. You will work closely with peers to establish a comprehensive enterprise wide curriculum of learning covering all facets of our operations including customer service, social services, professional development and leadership at all levels.

 Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications in Training and Education/ L&D/ HR or other related discipline;
  • A solid knowledge and application of contemporary learning practices (e.g. learning strategies, needs assessments, capability mapping, instructional design);
  • Previous experience with Learning Management Systems and the development and implementation of e-Learning content, programs and solutions;
  • Facilitation and presentation skills;
  • The ability to be proactive, adaptable, assertive and work well under pressure or within tight time frames;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish friendly and professional rapport with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Previous experience managing budgets, direct reports, software vendors and training providers.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge, sensitivity and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture.
