About the organisation
Colac Area Health has provided services to Colac Otway District for 134 years making it one of the foundation services of the state-wide systems. Today it has main campus sites in Colac with additional services provided at the Colac Neighbourhood House, Youth Health Hub and Adult Day Activity Centre as well as services at Birregurra Community Health Centre. Students on clinical placement enjoy modern accommodation in close proximity to the main campus of Colac.
Colac Area Health is a member of the Barwon South West Polwarth Alliance and is actively working towards mutual partnership with member services that strengthen health and aged care service provision in the Barwon South West region, particularly in the areas of service enhancement, safety, quality and governance.

Colac Area Health (CAH) is a fully integrated health service that provides a broad range of high quality hospital, residential aged care, primary and community support services to a population of approximately 30,000 people in the Corangamite, Colac Otway and Surf Coast Shires. CAH are now seeking to recruit a highly motivated nursing professional to join the TEAM!
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of Aged Care is considered to be a senior member of the Nursing Division and has direct operational responsibility for the provision of high quality and safe patient services through leadership, coaching, team building, change management, and effective human and financial resource management.
To be eligible for this role you will hold current registration as a Registered Nurse / Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia / AHPRA. You will be able to demonstrate extensive clinical skills and knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, strong leadership as well as excellent communication / interpersonal, negotiation and change management skills. A background in Aged Care is not a requirement for the role, but rather a willingness to learn, a motivation to lead your own team and a passion for providing resident centred care is what we are looking for.
Remuneration is in line with Victorian Public Sector Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement. If you have the background and skills for this exciting role then we would like to hear from you.
