The Program
The Youth Outreach Recovery Service (YORS) program is a newly created outreach pilot program until June 2022. The program is designed to fill a service gap within the youth mental health sector, responding to the needs of young people between the ages of 16 to 25 years old.
The YORS program will be covering a service catchment across Monash, Manningham, Yarra Ranges, Knox, Maroondah and Whitehorse LGAs
About the role
Do you enjoy leading by example and empowering a diverse team? Do you have demonstrated expertise and understanding in working with youth mental health? Are you qualified in social work or another health-related discipline? Then you might be exactly the person we’re looking for!
We are seeking an experienced team leader with expertise in the youth mental health sector to provide leadership, technical expertise, and operational support to a team of Youth Mental Health Workers and Administration Officer based on. The role will ensure that the team delivers a high standard of outreach service to clients through a strengths-based, youth-orientated developmentally appropriate approach that meets their performance targets, and operates within the program budget. Having an established network and understanding of youth services in Victoria will be highly regarded.
What you’ll be doing
As the Team Lead – Youth Outreach Recovery Service (YORS) you and your team of Youth Mental Health Workers will provide young people suffering from mental health issues with short to medium term psychosocial outreach support. In this role, you will lead, mentor, support, and motivate the team with the necessary support, supervision, training and guidance to ensure quality service provision to customers.
You will role-model service delivery expectations as you manage a small caseload of clients, enable staff to achieve their individual targets through the effective distribution and management of caseloads, and ensure services are of high quality and comply with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Standards and other legislative and compliance requirements.
Who you’ll be working with
In addition to working directly with your team of Youth Mental He alth Workers and Administration Officer, you will be supported by the Manager and work closely with EACH’s Youth Residential Program – Integrated Therapeutic Community and other stakeholders to support individual client transitions pre and post ITC engagement as well as providing an alternative to ITC placement.
The YORS team works with very high levels of flexibility, trust, networking, and collaboration, and members of the team will have strengths in these areas to engage with clients in the community.
