Freshwater Creek Steiner School provides child centric education from K-6 as well as Playgroup in an inviting and welcoming setting. Originally opening in East Geelong, Freshwater Creek Steiner School moved to its current location in 2004 and sits on 24 acres, surrounded by nature. Freshwater Creek Steiner School is one of more than 1500 Steiner/Waldorf schools worldwide and provides holistic education that values the unique, creative potential of each child,  community relationships and the natural world. Freshwater Creek Steiner School seeks a Business Manager to serve key responsibilities for the School.

Reporting to the Head of School, this pivotal role includes financial strategic planning and management, property services, human resources and management of the administration function.  The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, innovative, work collaboratively as part of a team and have relevant leadership experience, ideally within an education setting.

The key priorities for the Business Manager will be to build enrolments and early engagement with families, work with educators to enhance the educational frameworks, engage with stakeholders to drive future developments of the School in line with the Master Plan and ensure financial viability for the school through sound fiscal management, forecasting and development.

The Business Manager will share the philosophy of the School’s education and be aligned with the vision of the School’s Council. As an individual with a strong commercial acumen who understands the complex funding arrangements for Kindergarten and Primary School, you will work closely with the Treasurer on audits and end of year reports to present to the Council. You will be a suitably experienced Business Manager in the educational sector, with knowledge of guidelines and regulations as set by government.

This role requires someone who is open and empathetic by nature, and who is committed to seeing children learn.  You will be a passionate, dedicated and ethical leader with a proven history in providing operational excellence to close-knit teams and develop strategies for the School’s growth and success. The role will suit those with a finance / commerce qualification.

You will have an engaging personality, who leads people in a collaborative environment. You will have exemplary attention to detail and ability to manage budgets autonomously. Your success as Business Manager will allow for more children to follow a fulfilling, holistic and wholesome education path.
