About the role

We are currently looking for a Disability Services Manager to lead our Health and Disability team. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of SYC disability services programs consistent with the SYC service delivery model and in compliance with applicable contracts and/or funding guidelines.

  • Actively participate in the preparation, development and implementation of strategic and operational business / program plans as required.

  • Manage program and service budgets to ensure services are financially stable.

  • Work collaboratively with senior management to ensure the continued growth and expansion of disability services.
  • Build viable long-term partnerships with external stakeholders in your area of responsibility to enhance service delivery and manage relationships to promote and ensure the best interests of clients and SYC.

  • Organise and manage regular team meetings; ensure agenda and minutes are accurate and provided in a timely manner.
  • Proactively communicate with management to report issues, complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.

  • Identify funding opportunities, undertake research, and support the preparation of grants and tenders as directed in a professional and timely manner, and in consideration of SYC’s Purpose.

  • Develop and maintain one’s required professional knowledge of areas including, but not necessarily limited to, the NDIS and disability services sector and related services, including attending professional development and training related to the position.

  • Be well versed in psycho-social supports to assist in the delivery of client case management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Degree level qualification in an appropriate discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Human services or similar) is essential

  • To hold and maintain an applicable NDIS Worker Screening clearance is essential.
  • Substantial experience working with people experiencing mental ill-health, with a disability or psychosocial need.

  • Proven experience in successfully managing and leading a client-focussed team is highly desirable.

  • Experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders, including management, government departments, funding bodies and industry representatives.

  • Possession of a current valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive is essential.

  • Out of hours work and intrastate travel may be required.
