About the program
We have an exciting opportunity for a number of passionate leaders to join our multi-disciplinary team at the new Southern Melbourne Orange Door. The Orange Door Program brings together workforces from Community Service Organisations, Aboriginal Services, Family Safety Victoria and DFFH, to deliver an integrated practice model and a consolidated intake point for:
- Women, children, young people and families who are experiencing or have experienced family violence
- People who use violence
- Families requiring support with the care, development and wellbeing of unborn babies, infants, children and young people
Uniting will be focusing specifically on the provision of services to vulnerable families who require extra support with the care, development and wellbeing of unborn babies, infants, children and young people.
About the opportunity
As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership, coordination and mentoring support to a team of Practitioners and Senior Practitioners within the Orange Door. The role will work in partnership with the Orange Door Leadership team to develop and implement a high quality, client focused service response for families in need. Within the integrated model, the Team Leader will also establish and maintain collaborative relationships with partner organisations and agencies across the broader service system.

About you
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a degree in social work, psychology or a child and family welfare related discipline.
You will also have:
- Extensive leadership experience within the child, youth and family welfare sector
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of family and parenting issues, particularly where protective concerns are present
- Sound understanding of the Best Interests Principles, MARAM Framework and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
- Proven ability to engage and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a positive team culture
