About the organisation
VAADA is the peak body representing Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services in Victoria. VAADA provides leadership, representation, advocacy and information to both AOD and non-AOD related sectors.
VAADA’s purpose is to ensure that the issues for people experiencing the harms associated with alcohol and other drug use and the organisations that support them are well represented in policy and program development and public discussion.
About the role
The Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association (VAADA) is seeking an independent and self-motivated individual, with a background in AOD treatment or similar social service, to lead three workforce development projects designed to build the capacity of the AOD workforce and strengthen cross sector engagement.
Focused on three Primary Health Network (PHN) regions, this role will deliver an existing schedule of activities while also identifying new workforce development initiatives to fill gaps or meet the needs of participants and respective regions.
The role will also facilitate linkages and relationship building between participating agencies and partners while looking for opportunities to strengthen intra-sector and cross sector relationships.
The ideal candidate will have project management experience, experience in workforce development/ capacity building, implementation of targeted initiatives, and hands-on service delivery experience. You will have facilitated numerous face to face and online meetings or forums, and be comfortable delivering training. You will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively (within a small team environment). The capacity to travel to regional Victoria will be required.

The duration of this role is through to 30 June, 2022. Continuation is subject to performance and renewed funding.
Salary in the range of $77,913 to $85,639 (plus super and the option to salary package).
