Haven: Home safe is an integrated affordable rental housing & homelessness service provider.  We own and manage over 1900 homes across large parts of Metropolitan Melbourne &Regional Victoria and provide a range of housing solutions and wrap around supports to help people find and keep a place they can call home.

The Role:

Tenancy & Property Management of a portfolio of properties within the City of Greater Bendigo, Macedon Ranges and North Grampians Shire. This role sits within the Central Housing team and provides Property and Tenancy management functions for Haven; Home, Safe including externally managed housing stock.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing tenancy exits, participating in the tenancy allocations process, tenancy sign up, rent collection and management of vacated arrears, rent reviews, maintenance & asset management functions including undertaking routine property inspections.
  • Representing Haven; Home, Safe at Residential Tenancy Tribunal Hearings (VCAT)
  • Answering general enquiries from renters, prospective renters and any other persons enquiring about Housing. 
  • Providing information, advice and correspondence to renters as required, and as is appropriate.
  • Liaising with support services including other departments and other Haven; Home, Safe offices.
  • Provide timely reports as requested by line manager and as required, assist in the collation of data and documents for annual compliance reporting.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A Real Estate Agents Representative qualification or formal qualifications in related disciplines such as Social Sciences or Housing Industry are highly desirable. 
  • You are encouraged to apply if you feel you possess demonstrated transferable skills to be effective in the role and a willingness to undertake industry specific training.
  • Knowledge of tenancy, disability legislation and regulatory frameworks relating to the housing and Residential Tenancies Act.   
  • Community housing sector knowledge, or property industry and tenancy management practices, RTA legislation related to administrative processes.
  • Experience dealing with challenging housing management issues including  knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act including RTA regulation changes 2021.  
  • Experience or knowledge dealing with people that have experienced long-term homelessness.
