The Organisation

Operating for more than 80 years, PIA tackles the root causes of poverty, supports communities through crisis, campaigns for gender equality, and helps governments do what’s right for children and particularly for girls. They are informed by evidence and are always learning.
As Plan International Australia embarks on a significant transformational program, you will be a key player in this newly created structure, enabling change to deliver a next generation social impact organisation.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, with a whole of organisation remit your focus will be on lifting business performance and capability. You will play a critical role in driving a performance culture across PIA’s operational teams in alignment to organisational goals whilst providing strategic oversight.
Specifically you will
- Operationalise PIA’s strategy for growth and sustainability
- Offer proactive strategic counsel informed by contemporary evidence based analysis
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team, coaching staff to drive performance and accountability
- Promote a cross agency working culture with an adaptive and entrepreneurial emphasis.
Leadership
Together with your colleagues across the organisation, you will ensure the adoption of safeguarding policies and feminist leadership principles, ensuring whole of organisational alignment with the mission and values of the organisation. Crucially you will lead by example through the development of networked, collaborative, organisational approaches to work.
Skills Required
You are currently operating at a senior level in a similar operational role in a complex program led organisation, championing sustainable financial practices and models, you have been integral in supporting organisational growth and managing a wide range of projects.
Specifically you will be able to demonstrate:
- Achievement of operational goals through a transformational change process
- Well developed communication, engagement and leadership skills
- Strong business and financial acumen ideally gained within NFP or other for purpose enterprises
- Influencing skills across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- An ability to lead and nurture a team whilst navigating change.
