About the role

The Student and University Experience Portfolio provides leadership of the University’s strategic initiatives that promote student and staff equity, Indigenous Reconciliation and improve the quality of the student experience at the Australian National University. We are seeking new staff to take a pivotal role in contributing to the University’s commitment to creating a safe and healthy place for all students and staff at ANU.

This role sits within the newly established team in the Division of University Experience. The team supports students experiencing challenging times and high levels of stress, providing support across three streams: wellbeing and welfare, mental health and sexual misconduct.

They contribute to the monitoring and responding to disclosures of sexual assault and sexual harassment, they contribute to sexual violence prevention activities, the development of policies and procedures, provision of training programs and meeting ANU reporting requirements.

This influential leadership role will put you at the forefront of developing and delivering how the ANU supports members of the community who have experienced sexual misconduct. Overseeing a small team, you will guide and support staff in the provision of case management to clients and build highly collaborative and productive relationships with key stakeholders, including the Respectful Relationships Unit, Dean of Students, Registrar and Residential Experience. You will also work closely with the members of the other streams, building a collegiate and supportive working environment as a leader in the team.

To succeed in the role you will be committed to developing a successful practice model, have experience in guiding survivor led and trauma informed policies and practices, with an ability to educate others in this approach.
