Who we are

Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.

The Connection team operates within SVA’s Ventures business unit and relies on and works closely with other SVA teams. The Connection provides support to develop projects and leadership actions that respond to the issues of education disadvantage in Australia’s most challenged school communities. In 2020, the Connection initiative transitioned into the renewed strategic plan of work 2020-2024 for scaling and expanding the work.

The position

In this role you will be responsible for providing efficient, professional, and confidential support to The Connection team’s program delivery, using a range of effective and high-level administrative skills to ensure the smooth operation of the business. In this role, you will liaise and coordinate within the team and other SVA teams while assisting with special projects to improve operational efficiency and contributing to the overall objectives of Social Ventures Australia.
 
Who you are

If you are driven by excellence, have a strong eye for detail and are willing to be ‘hands on’ in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, this is the role for you! You will come to the position with proven experience in providing high-level program and financial administrative support, as well as in supporting the organisation and delivery of complex or major engagements and events.

A collaborative and pro-active approach to building supportive internal relationships and working across diverse internal and external stakeholders will see you successful in this role. Experience within the social sector or government relevant to education practice is desirable.
