Thorne Harbour Health is a community-controlled LGBTI organisation, governed by our members, and working for our sex, sexuality and gender diverse communities.
For 35 years as the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC), the organisation led the Victorian community’s response to HIV and AIDS. Our work has now moved beyond Victoria and Thorne Harbour Health is responding to a broad range of issues. Thorne Harbour Health aims to improve the health, social and emotional well-being of LGBTI communities and those living with or affected by HIV, with a particular emphasis on bringing the HIV and AIDS epidemic to an end.
About the role
Thorne Harbour Health, Victoria’s largest provider of LGBTI health services, is seeking to employ a Senior Policy Analyst to join our growing team of staff committed to issues related to HIV/AIDS, LGBTI health and wellbeing, and the human rights of sexually and gender diverse communities in Victoria. Under the direction of the Director of Health Promotion, Policy & Communications and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Senior Policy Analyst will be responsible for helping to advance and solidify Thorne Harbour Health’s role as policy and advocacy leaders in the field of LGBTI health and wellbeing.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Policy Analyst will be expected to:
- Work to advance the organisation’s strategic plan, policy priorities and advocacy objectives;
- Participate in policy and advocacy initiatives, including but not limited to HIV and ageing, LGBTI health and wellbeing, Melbourne Declaration commitments, HIV treatment as prevention, HIV and the law, rapid testing;
- Prepare high quality written materials including policy briefings, policy consultation submissions, position papers, grant proposals, press releases and public statements concerning HIV/AIDS, LGBTI health and human rights.
