About the organisation
WestCASA provides counselling, advocacy, education and training in the area of sexual assault to the Western Metropolitan Region of Melbourne and is located in the Multi-Disciplinary Centre (MDC) in Werribee with outreach to Melton, Footscray, Wyndhamvale and the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC, a women’s prison) at Deer Park.
WestCASA receives funding to deliver sexual assault support services from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services through the Division of Children, Youth & Families. Services to the prison are funded by the Department of Justice.
WestCASA aims to provide a service that is empowering, respectful, culturally sensitive and committed to best practice.
All WestCASA staff are employed by, and responsible to, a community-based Board of Governance via the Chief Executive Officer.
About the role
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Senior Practitioner will, in conjunction with the Clinical Service Manager, provide clinical leadership, organisational support and development. The incumbent will possess a minimum of four years experience in a counselling setting and a minimum of three years experience specifically within a CASA, with specific supervision training and /or experience in provision of supervision.
Their high level of experience and postgraduate education will be amply demonstrated within their practice and in the leadership demonstrated in their previous role of Counsellor/Advocate. This role has thorough knowledge and experience of WestCASA and the services it provides. This knowledge and experience will underpin the provision of highly competent assistance to the Clinical Services Manager functions.
