About the role

Guide Dogs is the leading Australian provider of guide dogs and orientation and mobility services for people with sight loss. We are a trusted, long-standing and well recognised charity.

As the Trusts and Foundations Coordinator, you will support income generation by researching, applying to and maintaining support from trusts and foundations, Private Ancillary Funds and governments. Your manager in this position is the Grants Manager who is Melbourne based.

A little more information on some of the things you will be doing:

  • Research and recommend philanthropic and government funders that are aligned with Guide Dogs’ mission;
  • Work closely with service delivery teams to identify projects suitable for funding and package these in ways that are appropriate to the needs and interests of potential funders;
  • Collaborate with the Grants Manager to manage and prepare grant applications and acquittal reports;
  • Develop and manage positive relationships with philanthropic and government supporters as well as a range of internal stakeholders;
  • Enable funders to see the impact of their support through site visits, meaningful project reporting and represent the organisation at various events/meetings; and
  • Maintain records in CRM databases and complete high quality acquittal reports and other communications to funders.

About you:

You have prior (1+ years) grant and/or monitoring and evaluation report writing experience and will have completed a relevant tertiary qualification. You possess excellent written communication skills suited to preparing professional funding proposals and reports, coupled with strong interpersonal, relationship building and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of philanthropy best practice and a commitment to continuous improvement will be highly regarded.

You have exemplary administrative skills, editing skills and attention to detail. You are enthusiastic, creative and innovative. You are computer literate and understand database management, ideally in a fundraising setting. Additionally, you are comfortable with and able to handle large dogs.
