The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Case Manager to deliver Low Intensity Mental Health Services through the provision of short-term psychological interventions to support people with or at risk of mild mental illness. Supported by the Western Victoria Primary Health Network, this role will be critical in the delivery of telehealth and face to face services.
Based in the Geelong Otway region and supporting the region and surrounds, this is an exceptionally rewarding position where you will be able to drive a person-centred approach and work with individuals on a one-to-one basis and in groups to support those experiencing mild mental health symptoms. Through your work with us as a Case Worker, you will be responsible for –
- Triaging and coordinating intake and referral of clients
- Promoting genU to potential referrers and other local service providers whilst promoting an awareness and understanding of low intensity mental health services across the region
- Provision of psychoeducation to clients on their health condition and use short-term evidence based and best practice interventions to assist them to better manage their health and wellbeing
- Assessing and providing clients with practical techniques that enable them to understand and manage their conditions on a long-term basis
- Ensuring all services are delivered within a quality framework which ensures clear clinical governance and compliance with national standards.
This position is suited to a mental health professional with a sound understanding of the requirements in supporting people with symptoms of mild mental illness who is looking for an opportunity to make an impact and work for an organisation focussed on change. The successful applicant will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work successfully as part of a team or autonomously.
Additionally, this position requires –
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Cert IV in Mental Health or Mental Health Peer Work or Community Services or equivalent; or
- Mental health qualifications in psychology, counselling, or a related field
- A current drivers’ licence
