About the role
The Paul Ramsay Foundation is seeking talented, dedicated professionals to fill a range of roles in its Strategy and Impact team. This dynamic, multidisciplinary team focuses on the origination, design and development of strategies, investments and partnerships across the foundation’s work, as well as the measurement of overall outcomes and impact.
All roles require demonstrated commitment to the use of research, data and collaboration to address complex social problems, alongside demonstrated excellence in creativity, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
The Foundation’s priority areas of expertise for these roles are:
- Learning lives (from early childhood through school and training)
- Transitions to employment
- Criminal justice
- Domestic and family violence
- Complex social policy, including housing and children & families’ policy
- Community and place-based work
- Data science and data-driven problem-solving

Senior Advisor roles:
Required:
- 12+ years of experience leading policy and/or practice related to complex social disadvantage, including in one or more of the following priority areas:
- Learning lives
- Transitions to employment
- Criminal justice
- Demonstrated success in strategic oversight of complex policy domains, including reporting to and managing senior stakeholders (e.g. ministers, boards)
- Advanced skills in outcomes measurement and impact evaluation, including quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in convening and collaborating for outcomes, and access to networks of influence in one or more of the priority areas.
- Graduate qualification or commensurate additional experience required.
Preferred:
- Experience in the delivery and governance of funding, such as grants, commissioning, or impact investing.
- Demonstrated community engagement skills and ability to engage appropriately with communities and beneficiaries, with cultural understanding.
- Experience working with communities and facilitating development and implementation of place-based social programs.
- Experience with public communications and/or advocacy.
Senior Associate roles:
Required:
- 8+ years of experience leading and executing complex projects, including demonstrated success in management, engaging senior internal and external stakeholders, and driving collaboration and innovation.
- Advanced strategy and policy analysis skills.
- Expertise in at least one of the priority areas.
- Community engagement skills and ability to facilitate and engage appropriately with communities and beneficiaries, with cultural understanding.
- Relevant graduate qualification or commensurate additional experience.
Preferred:
- Experience working with policymakers, experts and/or technical specialists to deliver outcomes is preferred.
- Demonstrated community engagement skills and ability to engage appropriately with communities and beneficiaries, with cultural understanding.
- Experience in the delivery and governance of funding, such as grants, commissioning, or impact investing.
- Experience working with communities and facilitating development and implementation of place-based social programs.
Associate roles:
Required:
- 5+ years experience in delivering complex projects, including demonstrated success in team collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Experience in at least one of the priority areas.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to develop executive level presentations and memos.
- Strong strategy and policy analysis skills.
- Advanced analytical skills, including quantitative and qualitative methods, and knowledge of financial analysis.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and deliver results in challenging timeframes.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated community engagement skills and ability to engage appropriately with communities and beneficiaries, with cultural understanding
- Relevant graduate qualification.
- Experience working with policymakers, academic experts and/or technical specialists to produce excellent outcomes.
Analyst roles:
Required:
- Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality analysis, research and project support to complex projects.
- Advanced quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent undergraduate degree.
Preferred:
- Experience in policy or data science.
- Expertise in one of the priority areas.
