Wayss is seeking a strategically focused Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead, develop and empower the organisation to successfully deliver on its core purpose. Working with Board, the CEO is accountable for driving the strategic direction of Wayss, while managing day to day operations and ongoing performance of Wayss as a business.

This role is the key relationship stakeholder for local, state and federal governments and agencies, and will establish, and continue to build, trusting relationships with clients, employees, government and the community.

The CEO will set and drive the culture, values and leadership style of the organisation for its 200 staff.  This includes building a strong executive leadership team and empowering leaders to lead service offerings in an efficient and effective way. The CEO will create and maintain an inclusive, safe, open and effective work environment for all employees, clients and stakeholders.

High quality candidates will be strategically focused, with a strong understanding and experience of the broader sector in which Wayss operates.  They will likely have an informed understanding of the Victorian Government’s approach to social housing and the Big Housing Build. They will have well-developed leadership capabilities, be able to build collaborative relationships and superior stakeholder engagement.  They will need to be able to build organisational resilience, have experience in, and passion for the sector along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
