Who we are
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.
Reporting to the National Director Fundraising and Partnerships and operating nationally, the Fundraising and Partnerships team is responsible for all elements of fundraising at SVA and for the management of select strategic partnerships. Specifically, the Fundraising and Partnerships team works to raise income for programs within the Programs team and others across SVA, as well as discretionary income to support the work of SVA.

The Position
The Associate Director Major Gifts plays a key role in the Fundraising and Partnerships team, by generating significant income for the work of SVA, and managing SVA’s relationship with high-net-worth- individuals (HNWIs), private ancillary funds (PAFs), and other high-value funders across Australia. The role is responsible for ensuring our funders and key relationships are appropriately cultivated, nurtured, and reporting obligations are met. Furthermore, this role will be required to build their donor portfolio through acquisition, relationship building and prospecting.

Who you are

You will come to the role with extensive and current knowledge of giving and philanthropy in Australia, and awareness of international trends. You will be known for your demonstrated extensive experience in securing multi-year gifts from Major donors, HWNIs, and large funders.
Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills allow you to effectively work in cross-cultural settings and connect with diverse teams across the organisation as well as with donors and supporters, forming long term relationships.
