About you
You are a recovery-focussed, enthusiastic, and experienced Mental Health Counsellor (Psychologist, or Social Worker ) with extensive experience in delivering therapeutic services to young people who have
been a victim of sexual abuse or who are displaying harmful sexual behaviour.
About the role
We present you with a unique opportunity to take your skills and experience to the frontlines in our highly regarded Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program (SACPP). The primary purpose of
the Clinical Practitioner is to provide specialist therapeutic services to children and young people up to age 18.
Your main focus will be to provide counselling and advocacy to these individuals and their families as well as the systems that support them.
You’ll be an active participant in both individual and group supervision and reflective practice, and you will be fundamental to the development and delivery of training packages in order to support, inform and educate those working with the effects of sexual abuse, and harmful
sexual behaviours.
What you will need
Drawing upon your tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, counseling or, child and family welfare (or a related discipline), paired with your experience working collaboratively with the systems that support children and young people, will be highly regarded in this role.
Ideally, you will have a good understanding or willingness to learn about Aboriginal culture, values, and protocols to work in a culturally informed and respectful manner.
