About the role

The role:

We have permanent full-time work available with some flexibility on hours to be worked each fortnight across our accommodation services.

Shifts will comprise of morning, afternoon and some weekend shifts along with sleepovers. You will support residents to be involved in all aspects of daily living, Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • assisting with personal care work,
  • accessing a range of community services
  • administering medication
  • being able to support with general household duties to maintain a clean home environment
  • assisting with meal preparation.
  • assessing clients’ needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs
  • monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients


Tasks Include:

  • assessing clients’ needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs
  • interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties
  • monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients
  • referring clients to agencies that can provide additional help
  • assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
  • liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services
  • supporting families and providing education and care for disabled persons in group housing
  • preparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies
  • About you: 

    You will be a passionate and positive team player who takes initiative when supporting our clients to take part in meaningful activities and social relationships.

    You will also:

    • Have a certificate IV in Disability and /or equivalent relevant experience especially working with Behaviours of Concern;
    • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including the confidence to liaise with your team, staff, client families and carers);
    • Be competent at using computer software packages incl. management systems (MS Office and SupportAbility etc);
    • Be experienced with client management, health and well-being reporting (maintaining client records, goals setting, incident reporting, managing medication administration);
    • Display a dynamic and flexible approach to tasks with a positive can-do attitude;
    • Have a good understanding of Disability Services legislation and best practice (eg. person-centred active support);
    • Have the ability to work independently with limited supervision
    • Have a current First Aid certificate and full Australian driver’s licence
    • Have or be obtaining a cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check and the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
    • Be double vaccinated for COVID-19 by 26th November 2021

This role is classified under the Victorian Disability Services (NGO) Agreement 2019 as a SACS level 2. Base minimum salary $62,777 plus shift loadings, Sat and Sun rates plus SCG super &  Full salary packaging is also available.
