Fundraising Specialist

Well known for exceptional Trauma and Emergency Units, The Alfred also provides world-class research and treatment in the areas of Heart, Cancer, Neurology, Mental Health and Organ Transplants. Philanthropy has enabled The Alfred Foundation to work together to drive innovation at the hospital, purchase new equipment, redevelop and expand facilities to improve patient care, support research, fund scholarships, build knowledge and share learnings with the world.

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, the Fundraising Specialist will implement strategies to engage, acquire and steward donors to support The Alfred Foundation. This vital and interesting role has broad responsibilities including coordinating a multi-channel approach to mass market giving, with a focus on growing regular and cash giving through channels including direct mail, telemarketing, face to face and online. You will play a key role in coordinating and implementing direct mail appeals, including assisting in the development and production of publications and appeal packs and researching and developing patient case studies to support fundraising activities. In addition, you will coordinate community programs, special events and be the key point of contact for community fundraisers to maximise their support of The Alfred.

About YOU

• A team player with excellent project management and communication skills, initiative & attention to detail
• Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing direct mail appeals and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience implementing community programs and donor events is highly desirable, and strong interpersonal skills to engage volunteers and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Exposure across a variety of fundraising channels including digital, face to face and telemarketing is desirable
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM databases is essential, and FIA Certificate or Diploma in Fundraising is highly regarded, but not essential
