About the organisation
The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (also known as Foundation House) provides services to advance the health, wellbeing and human rights of people of refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin or while fleeing those countries. The organisation was established in Melbourne in 1987 and is non-denominational, politically neutral and non-aligned. Foundation House is a state-wide agency offering services in metropolitan, regional and rural areas, with head office based in Brunswick. We have approximately 200 staff with metropolitan regional offices in Dallas, Sunshine, Dandenong and Ringwood.

About the role
The HR Manager leads and manages a professional and effective HR service to support a strong and positive staff culture that leads to continuous improvement and a sustainable organisation. They will play a lead role in the development and implementation of HR strategies and operational plans to ensure strategic goals are met. The HR Manager supports leaders and teams by providing timely and appropriate employee and industrial relations advice and leads a team which manages the employee life cycle. This role will also undertake relevant projects and the management of all HR and occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
About you
- A collaborative leader with excellent relationship building skills at all levels in the organisation.
- Experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment and positive staff culture.
- Experience in occupational wellbeing and maintaining a healthy workplace.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise agreements, the Fair Work Act, OHS and EEO legislation.
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, legislation, and communicate effectively to others.
- Ability to write, develop and review HR policies and procedures.
Remuneration
Remuneration is based on our Enterprise Agreement 2014 of $114,134 gross salary per annum (pro rata), plus 17.5% leave loading and 10% superannuation.
