One or two Research Assistants (RA, cumulative 1.0 FTE) are required to work across two trials based at Orygen relating to mood disorders in youth. The first, called The Bipolar early interventions using new digital technologies (BLEND) project is a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of a new service model including evidence based pharmacological, psychological, and interventions for youth with early-stage bipolar disorder.
The second study is a feasibility study for a yoga-based intervention for young people experiencing anxiety and/or depression. The study is looking at an innovative yoga, meditation, and breathing program to improve depressive and anxiety symptoms among young people in Melbourne, Victoria.
In accordance with Australian Good Clinical Practice guidelines, the Research Assistant will be responsible for recruiting research participants, conducting clinical research interviews, collecting, and recording accurate study data, regulatory reporting and developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. After hour’s and weekend work may be required. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, most research interviews will take place via telehealth. However, in-person and on-site work will return towards the end of 2021 following Orygen’s COVID roadmap.
