The General Sir John Monash Foundation provides and administers post graduate scholarships for Australian university graduates across all disciplines, with a focus on supporting the development of academic and leadership skills. John Monash Scholars attend universities all over the world.

About the role

The Foundation is looking for a confident and mature individual who will be excited by the opportunity to work with this prestigious national scholarship organisation. It is a busy, inspiring, varied and key role, within a small team and requires a particular set of skills. These include project management with a focus on the annual scholar selection process, a core part of the role; excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal; confidence with a wide range of stakeholders and an understanding of the higher education sector. 

The Scholarships and Alumni Manager is responsible for managing the complex and rigorous selection process and serves as the main point of contact for Scholars throughout their studies, while also providing ongoing engagement with the Alumni. This role also has key input to the marketing and publicity materials and events which include the annual Presentation Ceremony, forums, symposia and networking. 

Applicants will have a relevant undergraduate degree and ideally experience in the NFP and education sectors. The position, based in the Melbourne CBD is full time but with some flexibility. Interstate and international travel may be required. 

This is a 12-month maternity placement with potential for an ongoing position.
