About the role
Yooralla is a not-for-profit organisation that employs approximately 2000 employees who provide high quality support services to people with disability across Victoria. They have been supporting people with disability of all ages and needs with quality services for over 100 years. Their broad range of services include long and short term accommodation alternatives, in-home support, therapy, attendant care, assistive technologies, employment, education, recreation, training and practical skills for daily living.
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Fundraising Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Fundraising and Philanthropy team in the areas of major gifts, bequests, grants, corporate partnerships and individual giving at all levels. This role will have a specific focus on contributing to fundraising appeals, regular giving and community fundraising strategies and activities. As the first and regular point of contact for donors by phone and email, the Fundraising Coordinator is a key relationship and engagement manager for Yooralla’s supporters. You will also be responsible for the management, maintenance and enhancement of the donor database, and ensuring that all administrative processes within the Fundraising and Philanthropy team run smoothly.
In this busy, customer service focused role, you will provide Yooralla’s supporters with a seamless donor journey and experience and manage all communication with donors (by phone and email). Strong database skills are required as you will be responsible for the planning, selection and accurate preparation of all data for campaigns, processing all donations (including receipting and donor acknowledgement), and managing the security, integrity and accuracy of the donor database. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of strategy and implementation plans for fundraising appeals, regular giving and community fundraising. You will have strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and professionally respond to queries from supporters, and internal and external stakeholders.
You will be a self-motivated team player with initiative, attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, and the ability to balance data-driven solutions with donor centricity for fundraising campaigns. A broad understanding of fundraising and philanthropy principles, systems and processes is essential, along with solid fundraising database experience. You will have demonstrated experience in a similar role providing support to a fundraising and philanthropy team. You will also have experience in interacting with donors, assisting with fundraising appeals, regular giving and community fundraising activities. Evidence of ongoing professional development will be highly regarded.
