Senior Case Manager – Youth Support Services

About the opportunity

The Youth Support Services Program provides case management support to vulnerable young people aged 12-18 years who reside in a Residential Care or Lead Tenant setting. The Youth Support Services team also service the Finding Solutions and Adolescent Support Programs, which support parents and young people through a range of creative and flexible intervention strategies. The programs aim to divert young people away from the statutory system and reduce the need for Child Protection involvement.

In addition to holding a caseload of complex cases, the Senior Case Manager will be responsible for providing formal supervision and mentoring support to other Case Managers within the team. The role will work collaboratively with families, carers, schools and other specialist services to ensure that desired client outcomes are achieved. The Senior Case Manager will also undertake recruitment, training and provide supervision to volunteer lead tenant mentors.

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline.

You will also have:

• An understanding of relevant regulations and legislation including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
• Demonstrated case management experience within the child, youth and family welfare sector
• Previous experience in the provision of formal supervision and mentoring support
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other services, agencies and professionals to achieve successful client outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
