- On-going, part-time (22.8 hrs pw) opportunity available
- PACCT 6.1 – $74,921 pa, plus compulsory superannuation contribution
Box Hill Institute (BHI) is seeking a Student Counsellor to provide a range of advice and counseling services to students of BHI.
About the role:
• You will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary student support team that are passionate about delivering an outstanding student experience in a welcoming, collaborative and respectful environment.
• The Student Life team strive to ‘make a difference’ to our students and provide the highest quality support tailored to our students educational and wellbeing goals.
• As a motivated, caring, positive psychologist or social worker, you will be committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients using a person-centered framework and evidence-based approaches.
• You will be part of a friendly, supportive, dedicated and professional counseling team with regular opportunities to share learnings and participate in peer consultation.
• In addition to a diverse student caseload, you will have the opportunity to be part of innovative student-centric projects.
The person we are seeking will:
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work.
- Have registration with AHPRA to practice as a Psychologist, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
Expertise Requirements
1. Expertise in the provision of evidence based short-term psychological counselling with a diverse population who present with a broad range of issues of varying complexity including mental health.
2. Outstanding interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong professional relationships within and external to Box Hill Institute.
3. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a team environment to foster a culture of student satisfaction and continuous service improvement.
You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.
In accordance with the recent public health announcements and the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all appointments to Box Hill Institute will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination Status prior to commencing employment.
