About the organisation
Addison Road Community Organisation (ARCO) is a dynamic independent charity delivering a wide range of community development projects in the areas of social justice, arts & culture and the environment. Formed in 1976 in Marrickville on the land of the Cadigal people of the Eora Nation, ARCO is based at and manages a 9-acre heritage site of 30-plus buildings, 165 trees, gardens and community facilities. As well as our own programs, we also provide rental spaces and opportunities for other community-based organisations and activities.
About the role
We are seeking an accomplished, motivated, values-driven manager with a passion for and understanding of the not-for-profit sector and with expertise and experience in community engagement, grant negotiation and assessment, review, and management. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and direct reports include: Manager Service Delivery Programs, Manager Site Operations & Finance, Facility Manager and Office Manager / Executive Support. Responsibilities include: • Support the sustainability and expansion of ARCO programs and funding streams. • Develop and manage funding proposals and other government grants, the corporate sector and philanthropists. • Manage the resources, personnel and capacity of ARCO to ensure needs are met and results are achieved. • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders. • Provide operational management including the development and monitoring of budget; and contractual and regulatory compliance and general program governance. • High level strategic thinking and aligned action – developing and implementing corporate strategies to achieve results. Experience/skills include: • At least 5 years in a senior management role responsible for an organisation or a significant operational unit. • Built and led successful teams. • Managed finances for an organisation or a substantial operational unit including establishing, monitoring and meeting financial goals. • Experience in managing HR / IR functions for an organisation or unit including direct staff management; team development and support; policy implementation. • Development and implementation of policies and procedures related to corporate functions of an organisation such as HR/IR; internal communications; purchasing and payments or similar.
