Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. With a main campus located in the beautiful surrounds of Pymble in Sydney, and a second campus at Arcadia for Outdoor education, the College fosters a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

About the role

The College seeks applications from suitably capable and experienced individuals for the position of Development Manager.

Reporting to the Director – Community Engagement & Advancement, the successful applicant will join the progressive Pymble team on a full-time basis and play a key role in the development and growth of the Foundation and fundraising at Pymble. This role is to commence as soon as possible.

The Development Manager has wide-ranging responsibilities requiring both management and development level involvement, and direct administrative and promotional support for fundraising at Pymble.

Among other requirements, applicants must be able to demonstrate the following to be considered:

  • Prior major gift fundraising experience
  • Proven ability to develop positive, mature and supportive relationships with staff, parents and members of a school community or similar
  • A thorough understanding of how to work professionally with genuine sensitivity, discretion and a clear ability to maintain strict and appropriate confidentiality
  • Very well developed interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational skills and work ethic
  • Flexibility to adapt and operate effectively in a challenging and changing environment
  • The ability to develop and maintain strategic and action plans to support the development activities of the College
  • Experience in organising or large-scale events
  • Business governance and/or company secretarial skills (coordinating development meetings, taking of minutes, reporting and submission of agenda items, etc.)
  • Relevant qualifications
