About the role

Manager, Programming

Salary Classification: Clerk Grade 9/10 ($113,343 – $124,901) with a total remuneration package up to $139,077 per annum

Employment Status: Ongoing Full Time

About the Role

The Manager, Programming will lead the development, design and implementation of exceptional, innovative public programs for all audiences, which respond to temporary exhibitions, Museum-wide projects and the AM’s three priority content areas: Climate change, First Nations culture and natural sciences. The role oversees delivery within several diverse programming streams: Adults, Children, First Nations-focussed programs, and Science Engagement.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification or relevant, equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience in programming in a museum or other cultural or scientific context.
  • Sound working knowledge of audiences (including niche audiences) and methods of public programming in museums.
  • Experience effectively managing a diverse team.
  • Knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.

  2. Please outline the things you would need to consider, including the risks, when designing and managing First Nations programs. How would you adapt your working process to reflect any changed requirements? (500 words maximum)
