OnTalent is delighted to partner with North Coast Community Housing (NCCH) to source suitable candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer.  NCCH is a well-respected and community focused not for profit organisation which supports local communities in the north coast region of NSW ranging from Tweed Heads to Clarence Valley.  The organisation manages social and affordable housing for people on low and moderate incomes, accommodating to a wide range of accessibility needs. In operation since its formation in 1984, as a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider, NCCH manages close to 1,000 properties ensuring quality tenancy management and specialist homelessness programs.  Planning is well underway for future expansion of the company’s property portfolio with new acquisitions.

The role of Chief Executive Officer manages a committed and geographically dispersed team between its offices located in Lismore (head office) and regional offices in Tweed Heads and Grafton.  Reporting to the NCCH Board Chair and Board of Directors, the key deliverables are to implement the organisation’s strategic, business, and risk management plans and to ensure that the organisation meets its legal, contractual, financial, compliance, and performance objectives within its strategic framework and in accordance with the NCCH philosophy, vision, and mission.
 
The main objectives include ensuring NCCH is a leader in delivering efficient and effective business operations, risk management, and financial performance for the benefit of vulnerable people in northern NSW and to contribute to the development of the Community, Social and Affordable Housing sector, with active advocacy to the NSW Government in seeking to improve the accessibility and development of housing.

The main areas of responsibility include:  Organisational Leadership, Advocacy, Property Development, People Management, and Safe Systems of Work.

To be considered we are seeking candidates with tertiary qualifications in Housing, Business, Economics, Social Services or equivalent and previous experience in a senior management position with the housing/community services sector or an organisation that provides services to vulnerable people is desired.  You will have extensive leadership and management experience in leading and motivating a collaborative team of professionals as well as maintaining a positive working culture that creates conditions conducive to attracting, developing, and retaining staff. 
  
An understanding of the political environment in relation to providing affordable housing and its role in reducing homelessness as well as outstanding interpersonal and commercial negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders (including residents) investors, media, and government will be required.  Previous experience reporting to a Board in relation to financial oversight and experience managing governance requirements in a similarly complex business is sought.
  
This position is primarily located at the organisation’s head office in Lismore and will require travel within the regional area of Northern NSW and interstate as required.  The region has a full range of facilities and services including a university, several hospitals, specialist medical facilities, and numerous public and private schools.  The region offers popular North Coast beaches and World Heritage National Parks. The head office is within one hours’ drive to the Gold Coast and two hours’ drive of Brisbane.
