This exciting new entry level role will suit a candidate who has completed or nearly completed a Marketing/Communications/Events qualification. It is a great opportunity to work with an experienced Marketing and Communications team within a small and supportive company to gain valuable experience in your field of study.

Core focus:
Reporting to the Marketing, Events and External Communications Manager, the Communications and Events Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of ANZUP’s events, member programs and meetings both virtual and in person to achieve the organisation’s mission against its strategic plan.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting with the successful execution of key events and meetings, to ensure they are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
Events, Meetings, and Campaigns
Assist with the delivery of our National Fundraising events and campaigns – “Below the Belt”
Assist with event management and administration support for the Annual Scientific Meeting being held in Adelaide this year.
Provide support for other key ANZUP events, meetings, and programs
Co-ordinate the operational aspects of the event logistics including registration, venue liaison, sourcing of prizes, and liaison with suppliers
Assist with ideas to develop, deliver, and distribute event marketing collateral
Administration

Assist with EDMs, videos, photography, content design, online and printed assets
Assist with social media coordination (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram)
Assist with run sheets/bump in bump out schedules
Maintenance of our Below the Belt website through uploading of marketing material and updating information
Coordinate mail-outs, recording and reporting of events
Assist with supplier liaison and contract management
Work with external suppliers to prepare event collateral and materials
Deliver post-event evaluation plans
Support projects with general administrative tasks as required by ANZUP

What you will need to succeed
Qualifications, or progress toward qualifications, in marketing, communications events, or a related discipline
Demonstrated computing skills including database and excel analysis and reporting and interest in CRM/CMS systems and online fundraising platforms including eDM platforms (such as Campaign Monitor).
Excellent written and oral communications skills and being able to focus on detail.
Can prioritise conflicting priorities and think laterally to find a solution
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Good project management, planning and coordination in a multi-task environment
Positive, engaging, and approachable attitude
Build successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders with a strong client-service focus Ability to travel, work occasional weekends or outside of hours to support our major events
