The Organisation:
Dandenong Community and Learning Centre is a not-for-profit leader and innovator in the City of Greater Dandenong. The organisation provides community services, that include pre-accredited training, which assists in developing pathways for further education and training, with the aim of leading to employment.
Services also include support, social groups, community education programs, venue hire, a Community Shed and a Community Garden.
The position of General Manager reports to the DCLC Board of Governance. The position is responsible for all internal operations, financial reporting and developing new business.
The Role:
Reporting to the Board of Governance, the General Manager will:
- Execute the Centre’s current Strategic Plan through the delivery of business plans annually, actively grow the Learning Centre by securing Grants and program funding. the management and implementation of new and on-going programs, projects, and services that ensure long-term sustainability and which meets community and funder requirements.
- Submit program budgets as required by the Board. Ensure all acquittals are completed and submitted in a timely manner, and oversee and provide sound financial management within the organisation.
- Be responsible for maintaining working relations and compliance with all stakeholders, funders, Government Departments, and regulatory bodies to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Actively promote and foster the practice and implementation of the values of Service, Equality, Inclusiveness, Honesty, Integrity and Sincerity of Purpose amongst staff, volunteers, learners, and all service users.
- Lead and develop the branding and positioning of DCLC through all associated mediums, and manage the HR functions of staff, tutors, project workers, casual staff, and contractors. You will also provide monthly supervision to all four direct reports.
The Candidate:
As well as having 10 years + Management experience in the community sector, you will ideally also have relevant formal qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Education, Management or similar.
In addition, you need to be able to demonstrate that you have developmental, operational, and financial skills as well as:

The Offer:
A competitive salary of circa $100k plus statutory superannuation is on offer. This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Dandenong.
