About the organisation
Our vision is to create the opportunity for a meaningful life after stroke.
The Stroke Association of Victoria (SAV) is driving an Australian-first community-based support service for Victorians living with the effects of stroke. Focused on community inclusion and economic participation, our aim is to bridge the gap from when a stroke survivor leaves clinical care to when they return home and are faced with the challenges of re-engaging with the community and establishing meaningful lives post-stroke.
Our Stroke Support Centres are a local hub for all stroke survivors, where they can receive non-clinical, hands-on support and education, no matter what stage of their stroke recovery journey they are at. Our Centres provide a safe, supportive, inclusive and community-based place for stroke survivors to continue their self-led recovery and make social connections.
