What you’ll do

We have opportunities for positive and energetic Youth Development Workers to drive our advantaged thinking practice approach at our Education First Youth Foyer in Broadmeadows.

The Victorian Education First Youth Foyers provide integrated learning and student accommodation in mainstream educational settings for young people aged 16-24 years, who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Using an advantaged thinking approach, they are designed for young people who have the ambition and motivation to engage in education and training but have been unable to do so due to a range of structural, institutional and personal barriers. Youth Development Workers run groups for students, respond to needs as they arise, and manage operational requirements of the site. The role includes direct support to a case load of students and running group activities for all Foyer students.

Note: The successful candidate must be available as per the applicable rostering requirement:

  • Permanent YDW’s will work rostered shifts between the hours of 7:00am and 11:30pm, across 7 days of the week.
  • Those identified as ‘night workers’ and casuals will be required to be able to be rostered 24/7.
