About the role

Our Headspace team in Port Macquarie, NSW in the beautiful Hastings Valley, is growing and we are looking for an experienced Clinical Educator to join our team!

This exciting new position will focus on developing and growing our Headspace team resulti ng in an increased reach and improved outcomes for young people.

The Clinical Educator position is available on a part-time (16 hours/week) basis with hours distributed across 3 or 4 days per week. The role is available until June 2023, with a possibility of extension.

What you’ll be doing

As the Clinical Educator, you will make a huge difference to a broad client base experiencing a range of life-challenging issues by developing our team. You will:

  • Support the design, development, delivery and evaluation of our Headspace Learning and Development programs,
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively within the headspace service & key stakeholders,
  • Provide clinical supervision to enable students and graduates to complete their discipline’s endorsement or mental health accreditation pathways,
  • Design, develop, and deliver training and resource packages including those that target clinical skill development for the youth mental health workforce, and
  • Provide day-to-day mentoring and leadership to the Headspace team.

 

About You

You will have:

  • A youth-friendly, optimistic, and professional approach to work and a commitment to achieving positive change in Youth Mental Health,
  • An advanced level of skill in youth mental health clinical practice, including assessment, case formulation, and intervention across a range of diagnostic categories,
  • Experience as a senior clinician/clinical coordinator or extensive clinical experience within an autonomous role,
  • A collaborative leadership style that fosters learning and can provide skillful feedback,
  • Highly developed communication skills, including an ability to work as part of a broader multi-disciplinary team, and
  • Sound digital technology skills, including the ability to compile, review, and analyse data.

Qualification/s, Competencies and/or Licences

  • Tertiary qualifications in clinical psychology, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, or social work,
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent registering authority, and
  • Completion of a Criminal History Check and Employee Working with Children Check (or State equivalent) prior to commencement of employment and as required by legislation and policy during employment, as well as a duty to disclose relevant information that may arise after employment has commenced.

 

Who you’ll be working with

Our team at Headspace has a shared purpose and commitment to making support available to those who need it. Our team is made up of Social Workers, Provisional Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists/Psychologists, and registered nurses specialising in:

  • adjustment-related disorders,
  • young people between the ages of 12 – 25,
  • life-balance related stress and/or anxiety issues,
  • trauma-related disorders, and
  • depressional-related disorders.
