About the role

Community Housing Limited (CHL) Group of Companies is an innovative and best practice affordable housing organisation. As our Victorian operations grow, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated person to become our Engagement Coordinator.

  • Work collaboratively with our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Marketing teams to develop a successful engagement plan as part of a significant housing project in Melbourne
  • Use your skills and expertise to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability
  • High level of professionalism and networking skills required for this role

Reporting to the State Operations Manager, your experience in building and maintaining relationships and partnerships with a range of stakeholders will enable you to excel in this role.

Your focus will be on developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and marketing initiatives with the aim of tenanting CHL’s new SDA developments which are part of an exciting, large scale housing project across several sites in Melbourne.

You will

  1. Develop, implement and evaluate engagement and marketing initiatives for the SDA component of CHL’s Public Housing Renewal Project
  2. Work in collaboration with various teams at CHL and other key stakeholders on broad promotional strategies
  3. Produce specific marketing projects to attract people who live with disabilities to become renters at our brand new homes in some of Melbourne’s most desirable suburbs
  4. Work with Operations to ensure an appropriate entry process for renters with disabilities, including development of onboarding project plans and involvement of SIL support staff
  5. Work with the Learning & Development team to develop, coordinate and deliver staff training modules in relation to SDA and working with SIL providers
  6. Liaise with the Project Services team in relation to SDA policy and overall program development and delivery as well as lessons learned upon project completion
  7. Lead, mentor, manage and support the SDA housing office including acting as a point of escalation for complex situations
  8. Establish the CHL-SIL Provider “Community of Practice”

What will success look like?

You will have demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, including working in partnership with a range of stakeholders to achieve deliverables and quality outcomes for clients. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills with a wide range of audiences. You will also have:

  • Strong and effective decision-making skills, with a client and advocacy focus
  • The relevant sector knowledge to identify and mitigate risks
  • Knowledge and understanding of the disability and community housing sectors is desirable but not essential
  • The ability to work independently as part of a broader team within a fast-paced environment
  • A current driver’s license and the ability to travel
  • A commitment to the right of all people to affordable and sustainable housing.
