Position overview

East Gippsland Shire Council is currently seeking an individual experienced in community development and/or business management to provide individual support to local businesses and entrepreneurs in creating or further developing their business ventures, as part of the ongoing recovery effort from the 2019-20 bushfires. Our future Entrepreneur Facilitator will work full-time, based in Bairnsdale, with up to 30 clients to establish a business ecosystem of support for each, improving areas such as: product development, financial management, marketing and promotion, and regulations and compliance.

Knowledge of local industry and business needs would be advantageous.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in community development, business management or lesser formal qualification with extensive experience.
  • Knowledge of industry and business needs in East Gippsland.
  • Knowledge and experience relating to economic development.
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs in rural and regional areas is desirable.
  • Experience in working with volunteers.
  • Training and mentoring experience
  • A current, valid Victorian driver’s license.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Police Check and psychometric testing, and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Applicants for this position must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
