Work Type/s:                  Permanent Part Time – 3 days a week

As the Accreditation and Engagement Adviser you will:

  • Report to the ECA National Manager
  • Provide information, advice and assistance to businesses wanting to become accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia.
  • Document supply chains and liaise with Compliance Officers from the Textile Clothing and Footwear Sector of the Manufacturing Division of the CFMEU (the Union) to ensure ongoing compliance of participating companies.
  • Build strong relationships with businesses and stakeholders across the Textile, Clothing and Footwear sector to increase awareness of Ethical Clothing Australia.
  • Proactively engage and meet with a range of people in the industry, including local businesses and manufacturers. This will form the basis of events and working with the ECA team to organise these events.
  • Have a commitment to ethical work practices.

Knowledge and skills

  • You are driven and energetic, with highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders including businesses, unions, and NGO’s. You enjoy working with a range of people and business owners.
  • You have strong attention to detail; you are good at time management and you have the capacity to understand programmatic work and processes.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will continually look for ways to improve communications associated with our accreditation work.
  • You have knowledge of the TCF industry and garment manufacturing industry in Australia, or similar and you understand the role of the Union in the industry.
  • You can work positively within the ECA program team and are always working towards the organisation’s overarching goals. You will actively participate in team meetings and workshops.
  • You are familiar with relevant office suite program (word and excel) and have experience is using internal information management databases or systems.

Conditions of employment

Conditions are as per the agreement with Homeworker Code Committee Inc.  The role is part-time at three days a week.
