Our Client, Many Rivers is a for-purpose organisation that provides Microenterprise Development and Community Economic Development support to Australians experiencing disadvantage who want to access the economy, however for various reasons, lack equitable access to do so. Inspired by Christian values, Many Rivers exists to help Indigenous and other Australians experiencing disadvantage to improve their situations through economic development and enterprise.  As a not-for-profit, their work is made possible through funding relationships with philanthropic donors and foundations, corporate and government partners.

 

About the role

Currently undergoing a period of positive growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Head of People & Culture to manage all of their HR strategic activities, plans, policies and processes for Board and CEO approval. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be part of the Executive Team providing expert HR advice across the organisation and support the CEO in recruitment, leadership development, talent development and succession planning and strategies.

As part of their growth strategy, you will partner with the Executive Team and Team Leaders on all generalist HR activities across Recruitment, Organisational Learning and Development, Performance Management, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning and WHS to ensure that their strategic and operational goals are met. As a trusted HR advisor to all areas of the business, you will be comfortable mediating and liaising with all levels of staff and managing key stakeholders to deal with complex HR issues and people management. The People & Culture team also provides the administration support to the HR functions and monitors and coaches for compliance.

The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in HR or a related discipline and ideally possess post graduate qualifications in HRM or IR. You will demonstrate experience as a HR generalist and have highly developed talent management and organisational development skills and possess outstanding leadership ability. You will be a hands-on manager, equally comfortable leading strategy development and enjoying the operational aspects of HR.

You will be strongly aligned to the values and mission of this leading not-for-profit organisation and be looking for a role where you can use your exceptional talent to make a real difference. Your experience within the not-for-profit sector would be highly regarded.

The organisation is offering a very competitive salary package and this key position can be located outside of NSW for the right candidate.
